Karen Brothers

Nearly twenty years ago, I served as Director of Children’s Ministry for a large church in suburban Chicago. With a background in elementary education and a passion for creating, writing, and sharing God with both children and parents alike, I soon moved into a role on a Creative Team with Big Idea, Inc. and started a new professional path creating curriculum, a VBS program, and more with the popular VeggieTales team. I have worked steadily as a freelance writer, creative team member, program developer, editorial assistant, and lead editor creating programs for a variety of Christian publishers. I’ve most recently been blessed to connect with the incredible team at David C Cook and have worked on programs spanning the Tru curriculum to exciting new content encompassing The Action Bible. This past spring, I also joined the Ministry Spark team as an Editor. I am always humbled and thankful for the journey that God has led me on. The Bible verse I choose to have at the core of my life is Matthew 5:16, Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
