Hi. I’m Michelle Anthony. Welcome to Family Ministry Conversations. Today’s topic is envisioning family as primary. God’s original and great design for the replication of our faith is through the context of family.
Parents have the primary role in the spiritual development of their children. This means that the church—the faith community—takes a supportive and equipping role for families.
Faith Is Modeled Through the Family
Faith is not meant to be bottled up in a church building, but as Deuteronomy chapter 6 reminds us that our faith is meant to be expressed, woven into, and modeled to our children in all activities within family life.
Sitting at home in route to our destinations, at the dinner table, as we lie down to rest, God’s Word is meant to be written, spoken, experienced, and lived out in our day-to-day family life.
Supporting Families as Primary
Here at David C Cook, we recognize and support families as primary in the faith development of their children. We know that leading a child in his or her faith walk is not always easy.
But we also know that God picked families. And we are here for you and the families of your church as you learn to grow and live out your faith in the home.
